Engine Overview: Klavier

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

Klavier is housed within a special edition of our pyramid engine, allowing the unique qualities of this piano to be brought to Kontakt, within the familiar and intuitive features of our pyramid engine.

Even the most familiar features of our engine have been specially customised and fine-tuned to maximize your workflow.

On top of this, we have also added a few features unique to Klavier, giving you the ability to make full use of this instrument.

Morph Control

At the heart of Klavier sits the morph controller. This CC mappable control allows you to blend between our orchestral grand piano and the synthetic layer.

By default this control is mapped to the mod wheel, but you can assign this to a MIDI CC of your choice.

Mics and Mixes

For both the Gravitas and Red Planet Pianos, you are able to customise the microphones used and mix positions.

Our orchestral piano can be configured on the left-hand side with additional microphones, articulations and the ability to turn on and off pedal noises and releases.

On the right-hand side, you can control the synthetic layer, with additional microphone and mix positions, as well as extra articulations.

FX Page

Both instruments, include an FX Page, which allows you to apply effects to one or both individual layers of the instrument.

A wide range of effects are available, including: Filter and EQ, Compression, Distortion, Chorus, Delay, and a convolution reverb with a variety of impulse responses.
