Estimated reading: 1 minute

DAW stands for ‘Digital Audio Workstation‘ and is a type of software application that allows users to compose, record, mix, edit and produce audio.

DAWs are digital representations of physical recording studios, giving users access to make music and edit audio in the comfort of their own home.

VSTs (Virtual Studio Technology) can be integrated and used within DAWs in the form of a plugin.
